October's UFC 120 event continues to be bolstered with more international flair, as France's Cyrille Diabate will face Sweden's Alexander Gustafsson in a light-heavyweight bout likely to be featured on the night's un-aired preliminary card.
News of the bout was first reported by MMAFighting.com.
Diabate (16-6-1) is currently on a six-fight winning streak, most recently scoring an impressive first round TKO win over Luiz Cane at May's UFC 114 event in what was his UFC debut. He has not suffered a defeat in nearly four years, last being defeated by Mauricio "Shogun" Rua at PRIDE: "Final Conflict Absolute" in September 2006.
Other notable promotions Diabate has competed for during his 11-year professional MMA career include EliteXC, Cage Rage, DEEP and Palace Fighting Championship. He has earned stoppages in 13 of his 16 career wins including eight coming by TKO or KO.
Gustafsson most recently suffered the first loss of his young career, as he was defeated by highly touted prospect Phil Davis at UFC 112 in April. Prior to the loss, he won the first nine bouts of his career, which included a win in his UFC debut against Jared Hamman at UFC 105. Seven of Gustafsson's nine career wins have come by TKO or KO.
UFC 120 takes place on Oct. 16 at The O2 in London, England and will air on Spike TV via same-day delay. The event is headlined by a middleweight bout between Michael Bisping and Yoshihiro Akiyama.
