Jon Jones is no stranger to trash talk but hopes that his upcoming opponent, Dan Henderson, keeps it classy as the two prepare to fight later this year according to espn.com.
"As far as Dan Henderson, I'm excited about (him), he's a great fighter. You know, I've gone through a lot with Rashad as far as all of the trash talking and I really hope Dan's listening and I really hope that Dan keeps it classy throughout this fight," Jones said.
Jones received a mouthful, as well as dishing some back himself, in the weeks leading up to his fight with Rashad Evans. Accusations of betrayal, dishonesty and being two-faced were just some of the verbal jabs hurled at Jones by his former teammate whom Jones defeated at UFC 145 by the way of unanimous decision.
Since that victory, Henderson has been named as Jones' next challenger for his light heavyweight strap and it's apparent that Jones is in no mood for another round of trash-talk.
"I respect him as an older man, I respect him as a warrior and I just hope he keeps it classy and not drag me through another trash-talking bout. Let's stick to why we're really here, let's just fight," Jones said.
Henderson is not known for being a vocal trash talker, even after a season with Michael Bisping on the Ultimate Fighter season nine left Henderson relatively mild mannered until they fought at UFC 100.
Jones vs. Henderson has not received official booking yet, likely to be held in August or September.
