"I do not really want to fight Anderson. I respect him as I said several times before. I do not want to be the guy who beats Anderson, and I do not want to be the guy who lost to him. Anderson is a great champion, I'm a great champion. I'm not saying that the fight will not happen... It can happen, but it's something I'm not chasing." -Jon Jones via Correio Braziliense
Recently, both light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones, and middleweight champion Anderson Silva have been bombarded with questions about the possibility of facing one another inside the Octagon.
Both fighters have repeatedly stated that they have no interested fighting one another and have mutual respect, however, UFC president Dana White is adamant about making the dream match up a reality if both fighters can stay undefeated and things line up the right way over the next few months. White has even gone as far as saying he would lock himself in room with the fighters until they agree to fight each other if need be.
Just days ago, Jones said he and UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva do not need to fight each other to be considered great, but Jones now appears at least open to the possibility.
Jones is currently taking some time off in the beautiful Brazilian city Goias alongside mixed martial arts legend Wanderlei Silva, and his manager Malki Kawa.
During his vacation, he's been spotted at several clubs, and will be attending a mixed martial arts event tonight called "High Rock Fight II," alongside Silva, and Fabricio Werdum.
