Kenny Florian To Train With GSP For Penn Fight
by Jason Benfari on February 10, 2009

In anticipation of his long overdue lightweight championship tilt with B.J. Penn, UFC number one lightweight contender Kenny Florian appears to be headed up north to train with UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and head trainer Firas Zahabi at Tri-Star Gym in Montreal, Quebec.

Zahabi recently trained St. Pierre to a dominant victory over a seemingly overwhelmed B.J. Penn at UFC 94 last month and Florian would surely benefit from spending some time with the only man to dominate Penn in such a manner.

Tri-Star will also be opening it's doors to welterweight stalwart Karo Parisyan who is coming off of a big win over impressive UFC newcomer Dong Hyun Kim at UFC 94. Parisyan has recently struggled with panic attacks and his confidence appeared noticably shaken in the first round of his fight with Kim before taking control in the final two rounds to secure the win.

Other notable fighters who train at Tri-Star include UFC veterans Denis Kang Jonathan Goulet adn David Loiseau.
