UFC president, Dana White, confirms two matchups yesterday as Hector Lombard takes on Brian Stann and Maurício Rua takes on Thiago Silva according to mmaweekly.com.
Lombard widely considered to be one of the best middleweights outside of the Zuffa banner will now make his UFC debut and following him is his six years, 20 fights, unbeaten streak.
Lombard last defeated Trevor Prangley at Bellator 58 via TKO in the second round. Lombard also holds a heel hook submission victory over TUF veteran, Jesse Taylor, in a recent fight.
Stann recently rebounded from his loss to Chael Sonnen by defeating Alessio Sakara via first round KO at UFC on Fuel TV: Gustafsson vs. Silva.
Also announced by White is a light heavyweight tilt between Rua and Silva.
Both men will be looking for a win, having each loss their last bout. Rua was defeated by Dan Henderson at UFC 139 via unanimous decision despite a rally in the fight's later rounds.
Silva last fought at UFC on Fuel TV: Gustafsson vs. Silva after spending a year's suspension relating to steroid use.
For the Brazilian striker he did not have a welcoming return as he was battered by surging light heavyweight prospect, Alexander Gustafsson, for three rounds en route to a unanimous decision defeat.
Exact dates for the matchups have not been announced.
