Paul Daley (26-9-2) and Ricco Rodriguez (45-11), two fighters with a history of weight problems, missed weight for their BAMMA 5 bouts tomorrow night.
Daley, who has missed weight in five of his eleven bouts, came in at 172 pounds. After given another chance at making the 170 pound limit, Daley weighed-in at 170.4 pounds. His bout with Yuyi Shirai has been changed to a non-title fight.
The British striker is most famous for his post-fight incident with Josh Koscheck after UFC 113. After being out wrestled for the duration of the fight in their title elimination bout, Daley sucker punched Koscheck after the final bell rang. He was immediately released from the promotion.
Since then he has gone 3-0 in outside promotions, including Strikeforce and Shark Fights. Daley had been rumored to square off against Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz in April if he were to win his fight with Shirai tomorrow night. It is unknown how this will effect those plans.
Former UFC heavyweight champion Ricco Rodriguez has been plagued with weight problems since he left the promotion in 2003. Rodriguez weighed-in at 217 pounds for his 215-pound catchweight bout with James McSweeney.
Rodriguez has fought as high as super heavyweight, when he let his weight balloon to almost 350 pounds. Recently, Rodriguez has fought as low as 205 but he has still missed weight his past two fights. He has managed to put together ten wins in a row.
The two have been docked 10% of their fight purse, which will be given to their opponents.
