Randy Couture: I'm happy to not have to put up with Dana White as well
by Alfredo Reyes on February 07, 2013

"I had some rather interesting and classic texts that came to my phone. This was kind of a couple weeks ago when things started leaking. I'm happy to not have to put up with and keep my mouth shut and deal with Dana as well. It goes both ways. I have a ton of respect for the UFC. In a lot of ways, I still have respect for Dana and the passion that he has for the sport and the things that him and Lorenzo have managed to do for the sport over the course of their tenure since 2000... certainly there's plenty of things I don't agree with." - Randy Couture via Sherdog

UFC Hall-of-Famer Randy Couture gives his thoughts on his deteriorating relationship with UFC president Dana White after signing a multi-year contract with Spike TV.

This past weekend, news broke out that Couture signed a contract with Spike TV to serve as one of four coaches on their upcoming reality TV series for Bellator entitled, "Fight Master: Bellator MMA."

The show will feature up-and-coming MMA prospects vying for $100,000 and a guaranteed spot in an upcoming Bellator tournament.

Couture will also begin filming "MMA Rescue," which will feature Couture giving assistance to struggling MMA gyms across the country.

Upon hearing the news, UFC president Dana White was upset and commented that he was happy to no longer have to deal with Couture. It appears that the feeling is mutual.
