Ryan Bader to fight Lyoto Machida at UFC on Fox 4
by Hubert Lau on April 30, 2012

UFC on Fox 4 will see the matchup between Ryan Bader and Lyoto Machida according to bloodyelbow.com.

Bader (14-2) scored a huge win in his last fight at UFC 144 when he defeated Quinton Jackson by unanimous decision. With the exception of a big slam from Jackson in the fight's opening round, Bader was thoroughly in control as he scored numerous takedowns on his overweight foe.

Bader is currently riding a two fight win streak, also defeating Jason Brilz by KO at UFC 139.

Machida (17-3) hasn't been looking like the unbeatable "Dragon" of old. Machida sports a 1-3 record since losing his UFC light heavyweight title way back at UFC 113 to Mauricio Rua. Machida last fought Jon Jones at UFC 140 in an attempt to reclaim his belt. Despite initial success with a few punches finding their mark, Machida was caught in a standing guillotine choke in the second round which rendered him unconscious.

Machida's sole win in the 1-3 span comes from a highlight reel front kick knockout over Randy Couture at UFC 129.

Other bouts planned for the card is Hector Lombard debuting against Brian Stann and a lightweight scrap featuring Terry Etim and Joe Lauzon.

UFC on Fox 4 is expected to take place on August 4 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California

 |  (15) Comments Giada Esposito: Nice. This is a good fight. Machida shouldn't take Bader lightly, but of course I'm picking The Dragon. Now, the question is, who are they going to dial up for Gustafsson? Another attempt with Lil' Nog maybe? Wandering_Minstrel: Machida has all the tools to win this fight easily. snuff: I rather think Machida has this easily. GO HARD: You guys are crazy thinking Machida has this easily... Its all about aggression. Machida better have it. Bader is obviously becoming UFCs most underrated at 5k. nygiant: Despite being a Machida fan I think he wins this....He has success against wrestlers and is hard to take down, Marker28: I think this is a big step up for Bader. The Hitman: If Machida comes in with the right gameplan and is able to keep it standing he wins easily. If Bader is able to get takedowns it's a different fight. Machida by UD
