"I have a lot of respect for him and I think he's a great fighter, a fantastic one at that. I've learn a lot from him, so I'll be ready. But he'll face a hungry guy, and a guy who has learned a lot. He's a fantastic fighter, but my arm will be the one that is raised, and he knows that deep in his soul. He knows I will be motivated enough for the fight. My arm will be raised for sure, my arm will be raised. That's something that I'm doing today. I'm winning this fight today in every aspect you can imagine, with all the respect, no arrogance at all. I've got more respect for Michael Bisping than Michael Bisping has for himself." - Vitor Belfort via FightersOnly
Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort breaks down his up coming battle against Michael Bisping at UFC on FX 7.
Belfort, who's coming off of a heart breaking loss against light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones back in September, has made great strides in his training routine with the Blackzilians in South Florida.
Heading into the contest, Belfort has trained to lose muscle mass and work on his cardio which had been widely viewed as his Achilles heal.
The Brazilian slugger is 3-1 in the UFC as middleweight since returning to the organization in 2009 with impressive knockout wins over Yoshihiro Akiyama and Rich Franklin.
His lone defeat over the stretch was to champion Anderson Silva who knocked Belfort out with a highlight-reel front kick to the face.
Defeating the Brit won't be an easy task however. Bisping's cardio is second to none, and he's 5-1 in past six fights with his only loss coming via a controversial split-decision against Chael Sonnen last January.
UFC on FX 7 is scheduled for Jan. 19 inside the Ibirapuera Arena in São Paulo, Brazil.
