GO HARD: Anderson is never worried about taking damage. He eats damage for breakfast!!!
horizontalcracker: Let's make this very clear....to Fitch is to blanket...lol
Boots: Gooooo Chael Sonnen
GO HARD: Hes good at his job.
snuff: I'm with GH here. Having better BJJ credentials doesn't necessarily mean transitioning it well in MMA. As far as track records are concerned, Sonnen had his chance to sub Silva and it didn't happen.
nygiant: If I'm correct Chael has 4 sub wins in his entire career...only one sub win in the UFC...most wins my decesion. He won't sub Andy...just don't see it.
nygiant: Non Silva nuthugger here but I see Sonnen having as much chance of submitting Silva as Kalib Starnes coming back to the UFC
GO HARD: you guys are comical. Sonnen has zero chance of KOing Silva, and zero chance of Submitting Silva.
JujitsWho: I could easily see it happening.
Not because Sonnen is a bjj wizard, but his wrestling is so good that it trumps Silvas bjj anyday.
Sonnen on top after scoring a TD. Silva tries to defend but starts taking shots. Silva rolls to cover-up. Sonnen takes his back. Sonnen scores a RNC.
This isnt just possible....its actually fairly probable.
TGroves: Honestly, I could see it happening. Excellent wrestlers with top control can absolutely catch BJJ black belts in submissions. And I know GH is going to vehemently disagree, but Silva's BJJ isn't all that amazing. It's good but I definitely wouldn't call him an amazing BJJ practitioner. Just in the middleweight division alone I would put Palhares, Shields, Belfort, Miller, Weidman and maybe Belcher above him in terms of grappling abilities.
I'm not saying it's likely. I would still be surprised if it happened, but it's not like he said Sonnen would knock him out with knees from the thai clinch.
GO HARD: Wow and I use to like you Vinny! q: / lol
